Down the Erie Canal to complete the loop ending back in Waterford

 Waterford Tugboat Roundout
The fireworks view from the pilothouse of our boat

                                                                  Fort Ticonderoga

                                                        Whitehall New York

These tugs were lined up along the Canal, must be the garage for them
Some of the low bridges we had to get under along the way

A cloudy day for a picture of a flower, but the flower still had some color.

This was the old towpath where the horses pulled the boats through the canal
An old wooden water pipe, don't see these very often

Lake Champlain & Burlington, Vermont

Lake Champlain is busy with ferry boats going back and forth from Vermont to NY
The Marketplace is a great place to shop, eat, and walk, we enjoyed the hot weather they were having during our visit, it was just a short walk from the waterfront which is the picture above.

Many painted cows from different establishments, each with their own unique art work

Leaving Montreal & The Chambly Canal

The Commercial Locks are much bigger than the canal locks, we had to go through 2 of them and pay as you go for the size of your boat.

leaving Montreal we could see a large amusement park that was put in for one of the expo's or the world's fair.

The Chambly Canal, a very small canal for the size of our boat.........

As you can see in the pictures the canal is not very wide and you are traveling right along the streets in the city

Wayne liked this old Thunderbird, so I had to get a picture of it for him.
Going through the bridges, we only had a few feet to spare...
